Continue to Learn Throughout Your Career
The COE provides an excellent foundation for teachers to start their careers. But the best teachers are also lifelong learners. Alumni and teachers throughout New Mexico return to the COE for ongoing professional development resources. You can enroll to earn a higher degree, take courses to add an endorsement, or participate in research to explore a new area of interest.
The COE offers masters and doctoral degrees in many fields to help students advance their education and their career potential.
This dynamic approach to the ongoing educational needs of teachers and alumni is especially important given the state's new requirements for the 3-Tiered Licensure System. To reach the highest ranks of 3-tier licensure, you must have a masters' degree.

Teachers. Administrators. Researchers. Counselors. Coaches. The COE is proud to have more than 28,000 alumni who are making a difference in the world today. While our alumni have moved on from the COE to successful careers around the globe, they'll always have a place here.
We keep the widespread community of COE alumni connected through newsletters, special events, and this web site. Check back for what's happening at the COE, information on breakthrough research, and updates on your fellow alumni. And please keep us posted on your news, too.
Your access to COE resources didn't end when you graduated. Through the UNM Alumni Association, you have access to professional development programs, networking opportunities, and alumni activities where you can reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
Your ongoing support helps us continue our mission to educate and inspire the next generation of educators. Please go to the COE Office of Development web page for more information.
