Application Information for ABA Certificate

We strongly encourage interested individuals to meet with program faculty listed on this page before submitting an application.

  1. Go to http://www.unm.edu/apply/ to complete the online Graduate Application. There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee (paid with credit card online as part of your Graduate Application).

  2. Submit the following as part of your Graduate Application:Send one official transcript (electronic or hard-copy) from each college you have attended (except UNM) to the UNM Admissions office. Electronic copies can be e-mailed to apply@unm.edu. Hard copies can be mailed to PO Box 4895
Albuquerque, NM 87196-4895.

    • One unofficial transcript from each college you have attended (except UNM).

    • A one-page philosophy statement on behavioral assessment and intervention for persons in need of high quality behavioral intervention services.

    • The Special Education Department Application form. (Download the form, complete it, and submit it as part of your Graduate Application).

    • Names and e-mail addresses for three professional references. (These individuals will receive a message requesting that they provide a recommendation for you. We recommend that applicants include one former/current college instructor, one former/current employer, and one other professional contact. If you are already in a UNM Special Education program, we can use letters of recommendation from your original application file that are less than 3 years old).
