The department prepares students to become qualified teachers, effective leaders, change agents and academic researchers in the diverse schools and universities of New Mexico. TEELP offers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educational degree programs that prepare graduates to be teachers, principals and educational leaders who make a difference.

Applications for all B.A., B.S., and M.A. programs are being accepted online only. Applicants will have the ability to access and complete all application materials in a centralized, online location that is available 24/7.

From there, you can download the PDF application instructions specific to the program you are interested in applying to. These instructions will provide you with a comprehensive guide to all requirements, information, and supplemental materials needed to apply, as well as the link to the online application website.

Elementary Education

The Elementary Education Program offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. These degrees contain components for licensure as an elementary educator in the State of New Mexico.

The Secondary Education Program offers licensure programs at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as MA programs for experienced teachers.

The degree and certificate programs in Educational Leadership are designed to prepare individuals to assume leadership positions in complex educational organizations at successively higher levels of responsibility.
