Advisement

Ph.D. students receive advisement from their faculty advisor, other faculty who make up the student’s program of studies committee (“Committee on Studies”), and the program coordinator. Upon arrival on campus, students should contact their first year faculty advisor to discuss initial courses and begin to plan the program of coursework that leads to the doctoral degree. For more information on advisement, see the information provided in the following section of this manual: Stages in a Doctoral Student’s Career.
